This fun card and envelope is brought to you by the amazing designers at Stampin’ Up. It was part of a company wide class called Creativity Now. It is held every year for participating demonstrators and this year I was there. I loved this card so much and I was delighted that I could share it with all of you! But honestly, what’s not to love? Since learning this design I have been digging through all of my older Designer Series Papers and giving them new life!

Directions

Card Base

Using a piece of 30.5cm x 30.5cm (12″ x 12″) Designer Series Paper cut a strip measuring
10.2cm x 30.5cm (4″ x 12″). Turn the paper so that the long side is at the top, score at 5.1cm and 19cm (2″ and 7-1/2″). Fold the left and right sections in towards the center and burnish. The ‘top’ of the card is the shorter flap.

Cut a piece of Old Olive card stock to 7.6cm x 10.2cm (3″ x 4″). Place this piece in the center of the Embossing folder with the top edge aligned to the top of the folder. Put through your cut and emboss machine. Adhere the top edge of this piece to the top edge of your card base and center it from side to side. Glue to the top 5.1cm (2″) section only.

Using the large label die (6.4 x 10.8 cm or 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″), cut one label from Vanilla card stock. Stamp the greeting on the bottom half of the label with the Mossy Meadow ink. I brushed some of the Mossy Meadow ink around the edges of die cut, adding a bit more ink at the top. Using the craft knife cut a small slit at the bottom of the label wide enough to thread the ribbon through.

Die cut the dove out of the Vanilla card stock. The tiny envelope was die cut from a scrap of Darling Duckling card stock but you could just as easily cut it from a corner of the left over DSP. The Darling Duckling card stock just happened to be on my desk. At this point I found it easier to adhere the envelope to the dove. You can use glue or cello tape, I found the cello tape to be easier at I just trimmed off any thing that showed on the front.

Cut a piece of ribbon to measure approximately 66cm (26″). Thread the ribbon through the label from back to front pull about one-third of the ribbon through the slit. Hold the ribbon on the back of the label and place it against the card aligning the label with the blank area on the embossed piece. Drape the ribbon tail over the card so it hangs down the back of the card. Gently pull the ribbon so that the tails are the same length.

Tape the ribbon onto the back of the label. Adhere the label to the card front. You can use either liquid glue here or stampin dimensionals. Next adhere the dove and envelope to the upper portion of the label. I did use dimensionals on the back of the dove to adhere it down.

Inside Card

Cut a card liner from Vanilla card stock to measure 8.9cm x 12.7cm (3-1/2″ x 5″).

Use a Blending Brush to add Mossy Meadow ink to the edges of the card insert. I did not further decorate this card as it is intended for a friend and I need plenty of room to write. The Peace On Earth card is further decorated on the inside with a die cut dove at the top right corner and the words Love, Peace & Joy stamped at the bottom (one of the sentiments also available in the stamp set used here).

Envelope

Cut the remaining half of the DSP to 17.2cm x 23.5cm (6-3/4″ x 9-1/4″). With the short side at the top of your score board/paper trimmer, Score each side of the paper at 1.3cm (1/2″). Rotate your paper a quarter turn and score at 7.6cm and 18.4cm (3″ and 7-1/4″, Fold all score lines into the center of your paper.

Cut off the 1.3cm (1/2″) section on the top and bottom flaps. See photos below. Before adhering envelope together, fold all sides in and place the card in envelope to ensure it will fit. Fold the side flaps in first and place glue on the edges of the bottom flap. Fold the bottom up to form the envelope.

Thank you so much for reading today. I hope you give this card a go. It truly is suited for any occasion and any 30cm x 30cm (12″ x 12″). A true ‘stash buster’. If you do try out this design please post a pic in the comments below and/or on the socials and tag me @LoriOthen, I want to see what you do!
