Directions

Cut a card base out of the Blueberry Bushell card stock, 21cm x 14.85cm (8-1/2″ x 11″). Score in the center at 10.5cm (4-1/4″). Cut a diagonal line from the top of the score line down to the left corner of the card as it faces you. (See photo.)

For the mini card base cut a rectangle from the Blueberry Bushell card stock, 21cm x 6.5cm (8-1/4″ x 2-5/8″) Score at 10.5cm (4-1/8″).

Layer number one on the card base is cut to 10.2cm x 4.5cm (4″ x 5-1/4″) and is cut from Gray Granite. One of the flower images from the Country Flowers photopolymer stamp set is stamp repeatedly on in Gray Granite ink to this layer to create a light pattered background. This piece is then cut diagonally from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Adhere each of the triangles to the coordinating triangles on the front of the card base leaving and very small equal border all the way around about 2cm (1/8″).

For the mini card, cut 2 layering pieces of gray granite, 10cm x 6cm (3-7/8″ x 2-3/8″). Adhere one of these pieces onto the front of your mini card base front and one to the inside of the mini card base to act as card liner. Leave an equal border of the Blueberry Bushel showing all the way around each piece.

Optionally you can cut a liner out of a lighter neutral like white, beige or vanilla. In this case I felt like the Gray Granite was light enough to write on. If you are using an inside greeting I advise stamping onto the inside piece before you adhere it down. On the sample I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp the greeting because I wanted it to show up darker than the background stamping.

The last step is to create a focal point for the front of the mini card. In the example shown I have stamped the bucket container and the tall flowers onto white card stock using the Gray Granite ink. The flowers are colored in with light and dark Daffodil Delight. The leaves are done using the light and dark Granny Apple Green and on the bucket I used light and dark Gray Granite. These pieces are then cut out using the matching Country Flowers dies.

The flowers are glued to the bucket and dimensionals are placed on the back before adhering to pop-up the image.

I finished with a bow. I did not have any yellow ribbon so I colored a length of the white diagonal 1/4″ ribbon with the light Daffodil Delight Stampin Blend. Once it dried I tied it onto a bow and glued it to the image with a mini glue dot.

The mini card is then glued to the right inside of the card base. To close the card, open the mini card, fold the left side of the card base closed and fold down the top half of the mini card.

Notes: The sizes of the original card design by Jackie Bulhuis have been altered. Once to make it into a metric measure card and again because I wanted the mini card portion to fit the image.

I am adding a photo of my working model of Jackie’s design. I don’t usually do this because let’s face it, working models are made from left overs and usually look like a hot mess. But if you watch any of Jackie’s fun fold video she recommends doing this and I agree. It gave me a chance to see that the image I wanted to use was a little small for the mini card area in the original. From this point it was easy to determine what size the mini card should be.

So if you find a design you like but it does not fit exactly fit your needs then try altering the original. It may be easier than you think!

Thank you for reading today. I enjoyed bringing you this card and I hope you give it a try in one form or another. Special thanks to Jackie Bulhuis of Klompen Stampers for the original designs.
