This is probably the fastest post and video I have ever done. Not only is the Z-fold one of the easiest and fastest of the fun folds it is also one of the more impressive ones in it’s clean lines and elegant simplicity. So whether you add a simple greeting or go wild as I did, this fold should be a staple in your card making repertoire.

Directions

Cut the card base from a double sided piece of patterned paper to measure 28.6cm x 14cm (11-1/4″ x 5-1/2″). Score at 2.5cm (1″) again at 10.1cm (4″) and at 17.8cm (7″).

Lay the paper down on the table with the main pattern up. Fold forward at the first score line to expose the back side of the paper. Glue this flap down.

Fold the second section on the 10.1cm (4″) score to the back, creating the first fold of a Z.

At the last score line 17.8cm (7″) for the paper forward again. The card base is finished and ready to decorate.

To create a space to write on or stamp a greeting cut a base piece of Lemon Lolly card stock to 6.5cm x 12.9cm (2-5/8″ x 5-1/8″) Glue to the inside card leaving an equal border, top and bottom and to the left by the fold. Create a second layer with basic white card stock cut to 6.3cm x 12.7cm (2-1/8″ x 5″). Glue to the top of the Lemon Lolly layer leaving a small border all the way around. I used one of the dies from the Delightful Wishes set to create the pattern at the bottom of this piece.

For the front of the card I created a focal point with a 7cm (3-1/4″) circle that I die cut out of basic white card stock using one of the dies from the Spotlight on Nature die set. This piece did not have to be a circle, it could be basically any shape with the approximate size to center up on the front of the card.

For my example I went crazy with the die cuts from the Delightful Wishes die set. It did take me a bit of time to put this focal piece together. I did not film it because…well crafter at play…with a bit of rocking music and many trials to see what I liked, I doubt it would have made for a very interesting “watch”.

This stamp and die set has been so much fun for me. Not only are there lots of great layers in the die set but the stamp set features a full flower scene with stem, leaves and two layers of flower power to create a lovely detailed full color image.
