This design is perfect for those times when you want to just hang out and craft. It works well with stamp sets that have lots of greetings that work together. It also works with stamp and die sets that have multiple images. I would love to take credit for this design but alas all I can claim are the conversions for using metric card stock. The original design is by the lovely Jackie Bolhuis and uses imperial card stock. I have included her measurements along with my metric conversions.

Directions

Card base

Using Pool Party card stock, cut a ‘vertical’ card base 27.9cm x 10.5cm (11″ x 4-1/4). Note: This is a half-sheet of imperial card stock and a trimmed half sheet of metric card stock.

Score the card base at 13.95cm (5-1/2″), fold in half and burnish. This card will be oriented with the fold to the right.

Cut three pieces of designer series paper to 13.35 x 9.9cm (5-1/4″ x 4″). The first piece will be affixed to the front of the card, place the other two pieces on the inside of the card, facing each other.

Pop-out mechanism

Cut a strip of the Pool Party 27.9cm x 2.5cm (11″ x 1″). Score this piece 7cm, 14cm, 20.95cm, (2-3/4″, 5-1/2″, 8-1/4″), Fold this strip into a W shape.

Glue the left ‘leg’ of the W strip to the edge of the inside left card base, lining it up to the center (top/bottom). Glue the right ‘leg’ to the center right edge of the right side of the card base. (See photograph)

Decorate

Outside

Cut a rectangle of Daffodil Delight card stock cut to 12cm x 8.5cm (4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″).

Cut another rectangle of one of the solid sides of the designer series paper to 11.5cm x 8cm (4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″). Using the flower background die from the Delightful Wishes set make two cuts, on at the top left and the other at the bottom right. Layer this piece over the Daffodil Delight rectangle. I only put glue on the upper right and lower left corners, leaving the die cut edges free.

Wrap a piece of the Daffodil Delight ribbon around the front of the greeting piece. Insert a loop of the ribbon to the right. Use a couple of glue dots down to hold the ribbon into shape and to keep is affixed to the left side of the card.

Using the long ‘label’ die from the set cut out a label using the Lemon Lolly card stock. The greeting is stamped using Old Olive ink. Affix the label over the top of the ribbon beside the loop.

Die cut the outline of the word ‘wishing’ with Daffodil Delight card stock and the inner word ‘wishing’ with Lemon Lolly card stock. I found it was easier to affix the Lemon Lolly card stock to a double sided adhesive sheet before cutting out the word. Working with glue and delicate die cuts can be messy. Once you have adhered the two pieces together add Mini Stampin Dimensionals to the back and place it above the ribbon.(shown in the photograph)

Inside

Cut four small rectangles 5.5cm x 6.7cm (2-1/8″ x 2-5/8″) to act as ‘mats’ or bases for the decorative elements. In this example I cut two from the Lemon Lolly card stock and two from the Daffodil Delight Card Stock

Cut four more rectangles 5.1cm x 6.3cm (2″ x 2-1/2″) to layer on the top of the ‘mats’. I used Lemon Lolly for two of the rectangles and Pool Party for the other two rectangles.

Die cut two of the large flower outlines and the medium sized (daisy like) flower outlines out of the Lemon Lolly card stock. For the inside pieces to the flowers cut two larger and two smaller pieces using the Lemon Lolly card stock. Before cutting these inner pieces lightly color the card stock using the Peach Pie Light Stampin Blend Marker.

This will create a bit of a contrast to the back ground color of the flowers. For the smallest flowers cut two flower outlines from the Daffodil Delight Card stock and cut the matching centers from Lemon Lolly card stock. Of Note: I forgot to use the adhesive sheet when cutting out these inner pieces and I wish I had. See glue covered fingers and silicone craft sheet for details.

The leaf bases are cut from Mossy Meadow card stock and the contrasting inner pieces are cut from Old Olive card stock. Cut 2 large leaf bases and 4 small leaf bases and their coordinating inside pieces.

Arrange one large flower, one medium, and one small flower along with one of the large leaves and two of the small leaves on one of the small Pool Party layered over Lemon Lolly rectangles. Repeat this with a second layered rectangle.

For the third rectangle cut a piece of matching dsp, 4.7cm x 6cm (1-3/4″ x 2-1/4″) to layer over one of the Daffodil Delight/Lemon Lolly rectangles.

On the last rectangle I stamped ‘Happy Birthday” on the top Lemon Lolly layer of the second Daffodil Delight/Lemon Lolly rectangle, using Old Olive ink. Since there was no birthday greeting of the appropriate shape I used a greeting from the Photopolymer Stamp Set called Unbounded Love
