I wanted to make a great Christmas card that would stand up to holiday cheer! So obviously an easel type card was the way to go. This is the perfect card if you like to write letters or long notes to include in your holiday cards. The original design for this multi layered easel card was created by Jackie Bulhuis her video is linked below.

Create the Components

Cut a bottom opening card base out of the Mossy Meadow card stock, 28cm x 10.5cm (11″ x 4-1/4″). Score at 14cm (5-1/2|). Fold and burnish well.

This card will require a card liner to stiffen up the back of the card. So you will need to include one even if you are making a white, vanilla or beige (or any other light colored card base). Cut a piece of basic white to 10cm x 13.5cm (4″ x 5-1/4″).

Cut the top folding easel piece out of the Old Olive card stock, 24.7cm x 10cm (9-3/4″ x 4″), Score this piece at 5.7cm (2-1/4″) and again at 11.4cm (4-1/2″). Fold and burnish this piece as shown in the photo.

You will need three pieces of decorative paper. Cut the first one to 9.5cm x 12.7cm (3-3/4″ x 5″). The next two cut of the same pattern to 9.5cm x 5.1cm (3-3/4″ x 2″).

For the top focal point cut a rectangle of Mossy Meadow card stock to 6.6cm x 10.5cm (2-5/8″ x 4″)

Cut a smaller rectangle of basic white for the secondary greeting/focal point, 5.7cm 8.9cm (2-1/4″ x 3-1/2″).

Decorate your Components

Once your pieces are cut decorate them now before assembling to make things easier.

I decorated the card liner using the Merry Christmas stamps from Peaceful Season and stamped them in Pecan Pie ink. The foliage is a two part stamp. The first piece was stamped in Old Olive ink and the second in Mossy Meadow ink. I used the Pecan Pie Stampin Write marker to place lines on the branches to mimic the back ground vellum.

The secondary focal point was stamped in the same manner, Pecan Pie ink for the greeting, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow inks for the foliage. The Pecan Pie marker was again used to indicates the bark of the branches.

The focal point was created by die cutting two pine branches from the Old Olive card stock. The third piece of foliage was cut with the largest of the foliage dies using the white piece of vellum from the Graceful Greenery Vellum pack.

The large bell was stamped two times onto plain white card stock. The bell base is stamped in Crumb Cake ink and the over stamp is stamped using the Pecan Pie ink. These two bells were then cut out using the matching dies from the Golden Greenery set.

Arrange our pieces on the Mossy Meadow focal point rectangle. The foliage pieces are glued flat while the bells are placed on dimensionals to pop them up.

Tie a bow with the Gold trim from the Gold & Silver 3/1″ trim pack. Adhere it over the bells with a mini-glue dot.

Assemble the Components

Adhere the card liner to the inside of the card base leaving an equal border of Mossy Meadow card stock showing all of the way around.

Adhere the largest portion of the top folding easel piece to the front of the card base leaving an equal border of the Mossy Meadow card base showing all of the way around.

The Graceful Greenery Vellum pieces (acting as your designer series paper) can now be glued to the easel portion of the card. See photo for placement. I used the mini-glue dots to stick down the vellum using the pattern to hide them. I like the way they elevated the vellum just enough to increase the illusion of dimension.

To glue on the focal point, fold up the card as if it were finished. Center up the focal point as if the card front were a solid piece. Only glue down the lower half of the focal point the upper portion will remain free.

Glue the secondary focal point to the front of the card base over the velum, positioning it to be hidden behind the main focal point when the card is closed.

And that’s a wrap!

This is another fantastic fun fold designed by the amazing Jackie Bulhuis of Klompen Stampers. I attempted a slight re-design in metric (as I usually do) to make use of our European sized card stock. But no matter how many ways I worked the easel base I was unsuccessful. It seems that Jackie had already created the perfect card proportions. So the metric measurements shown above are just translations of the original imperial measurements. Here is the link to Jackie’s video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAaEAj4yEFo&t=1s&ab_channel=KlompenStampers%7CJackieBolhuis I hope you have the time and/or opportunity to watch this video and give her (and Dave) a big thumbs up. There are also three other cards featured in this video that you may like.

Thank you for reading this today. I do truly hope you will make up this fun fold. If you do please post a picture below or on social media and tag me @loriothen.
