Here is another of my fun fold resurrection posts. This fun fold was quite popular a few years ago and makes a simple yet impressive card. Designer Series Papers and clever die cuts take it to the next level.

Directions

For the card base cut a piece of Berry Burst card stock 10.5cm x 14.85cm (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″). This is a flat card base, no folds.

The next layer is cut from the Pretty In Pink card stock, 10cm x 14.4 (4″ x 5-1/4″).

Using the basic white card stock stamp the large flower from the Unbound Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set using the Pretty in Pink Stamping Pad. Next, also using the Pretty In Pink ink, but stamping off once, stamp the solid flower fill-in stamp. The center of the flowers is stamped with the Berry Burst ink. Repeat this process with the second flower leaving out the step to ‘fill-in’ the flower. The leaves are stamped using the Summer Splash Stampin Pad and filled in the same way as the flower, stamping off once to lighten the ink. Two sets of leaves were stamped.

The double point folds are made from Designer Series Paper, cut two pieces, 10cm x 7.6cm (4″ x 3″). With the short side at the top of your paper trimmer score a line 2.5cm (1″) from one side and burnish well. (See photo) If you are using directional patterned paper it is important to know that the score lines will be place at the ‘top’ of one piece and at the ‘bottom’ of the other piece.

Fold in each side to the score line to create a point. (See photos) Place adhesive under the folds to secure. Next place adhesive below the score line under the point you just folded. Place the score line so it wraps around the top of the Pretty In Pink card layer and press down to secure, repeat with the other double point fold on the bottom.

Once both points are secured glue this piece to the card base leaving an equal border all the way around.

The next step is to do some die cutting. Die cut your two flower and two leaf images with the matching dies from the Unbound Beauty Die set. Then using a scrap of the Berry Burst card stock die cut the largest image from the same die set. The last piece for the focal point is cut from the Summer Splash Glimmer paper using the medium foliage die.

Die cut two 7cm (2-3/4″) circles from basic white card stock. I used the Spotlight on Nature Die set but any circle die or punch that is large enough to span the space between the card points and overlap a bit, will work. The first circle will be the base for the focal point and used on the front of the card. The second will be mounted on the ‘inside layer’ underneath the first for a place to write a message or place a greeting.

With the points folded inward place one of your white circles down so it evenly overlaps both of the card points. At this point I placed a small mark at the top of the circle to mark where to put the glue. Remove the circle and place the glue on the top point only. Allow to set for a few moments.

If you are using an inside greeting stamp it onto your second circle now. Next place glue on the back side of this second circle and hold it lined up with the top circle. Gently place the circle in place on the pink card stock being sure the front circle and the base circle are lined up exactly. This creates a nice surprise on opening the card. I would give this a moment to dry before continuing.

Arrange your die cuts on top of the first circle. Some are glued down flat, however one of the flowers and leaf set are raised up on dimensionals. I finished by adding a bow to the arrangement as if the bow were holding it all together.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I would like to thank Lynn Dawn of Stamptastic Designs for this idea. I added the metric measurements and changed up the center piece with a circle.
