This diagonal fun fold design has been super popular this year so I thought I would share a Christmas version with you. Don’t let the simplicity fool you, this little card makes a big impact! Although it’s no angel, you will find the angle sweet enough to fly.
Supplies
Joy of Noel Photopolymer Stamp Set
Christmas Classic Die set
Cherry Cobbler card stock
Small piece of white card stock (for a liner if needed)
2 pieces of Joyful Specialty Designer Series Paper
1 piece of Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper
Cherry Cobbler Stampin Pad
Loose Holly Gems & Sequins
Multi Purpose Liquid Glue
Directions
On the short end of your Cherry Cobbler card stock, measure 7.5cm (3″) and make a small mark. Turn your card stock so that you have the other short end up and mark 7.5cm (3″) again. Align the two marks up on the track of your paper trimmer and cut. You now have two card bases. See cutting & scoring guide below.
Turn your card stock so the long square edge is at the top against the guide. Score 9.3cm (3″). Move the paper down and score again at 19.2cm (6-3/4″).
Cut your patterned paper to the following sizes:
Large back piece – 10cm x 13.1cm (4″ x 5-1/4″)
Center medium piece – 9.5cm x 10.5cm (2-3/4″ x 3-1/2″)
Front short piece – 8.8cm x 9cm (3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″)
If you are using a white liner to write on for the inside center piece, cut it to the same dimensions as the center medium piece of patterned paper at 9.5cm x 10.5cm (2-3/4″ x 3-1/2″).
To get your angle cut, align the sides of your patterned paper to the proper position on the card base, then slide it up so that the space at the bottom is roughly double what you want it to be when finished. Doing this should align the top corner of the square (patterned paper) to the top corner of the card section (the highest point of the angle). Holding the patterned paper in place cut along the card base’s top edge to create the angle on the patterned paper. (See photos below or watch the video, it might make more sense).
I decorated the front with die cuts from the Christmas Classic Die set and the greeting from the Joy of Noel Photopolymer Stamp set. The inside greeting is from the Brightest Glow cling stamp set.
Thank you for reading today, I hope you give this card a try. The first time I saw this fun fold card it was being demonstrated by the lovely Jackie Bolhuis of Klompenstampers.com. I reworked that design a little so it would better fit A-4 card stock. The American imperial measurements are hers. The imperial card is slightly taller but not as wide as my version. Remember if you do make this card please post a picture below or on social media, tag me @loriothen.
