Directions

Cut a piece of the Calypso Coral card stock 14.85cm x 21cm (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″). Score half way at 10.5cm (4-1/4″), fold and burnish to crate the card base.

If using a card liner (recommended) cut a piece of Basic White card stock to 14.3cm x 10cm (5-1/4″ x 4″). Stamp an inside greeting or image onto the white before gluing to the inside of the card. Be sure to leave an equal amount of the Calypso Coral color showing all the way around.

For the first layer cut a piece of Crushed Curry card stock to 9cm x 13.8cm (3-1/8′ X 5-1/4″). You may notice that this piece is slightly narrower than the “standard” first layer. This is so that the layer can be tilted. In my example I tilted the Crushed Curry layer to the left with the top left corner almost touching the edge of the card base.

**If you prefer to have a straight layer cut Crushed Curry layer to 14.3cm x 10cm (5-1/4″ x 4″) and glue to the card base leaving an equal border of Calypso Coral showing all the way around.

For the top layer cut a piece of the Sunny Day Designer Series Paper AND a piece of Basic White card stock to 8.5cm x 13.3cm (3-1/2″ x 5″) Stick these two layers together, top and bottom with removeable tape (Post-It Note or washi tape).

Ink up the large heart & tulip photopolymer stamp from the Hooray for Surprises Stamp Set with the Lost Lagoon Stampin Pad. Stamp the heart onto the top half of the top layer. Ink the stamp again and stamp another one on the bottom half of the paper.

Place the heart dies over the stamped hearts as shown in the photograph and run through your Cut & Emboss Machine. I recommend using a bit of Post-It or washi tape to secure the dies.

Remove the machine plate from the machine. Without removing the dies carefully turn the paper over. You should now be looking at the white card stock side. Using regular cellophane tape, tape all around the cut edges of the hearts. The purpose of cutting all the way through was to mark the location of the hearts on the other side. You don’t actually want to remove these hearts as we will be stamping on them in a moment.

With the white side of your layer stack securely taped, turn the card over and VERY CAREFULLY remove the Post-It/washi tape. Using the tape you just removed, place it over the top heart’s cut out image edges to secure it so that you do not accidently pull it off the unfinished card. Leave the ‘tab’ portion uncovered. You can now remove the bottom stamped heart and set aside. I used my left over heart to decorate the envelope.

Using the tiny “Pull” stamp and Lost Lagoon ink stamp over the ‘tab’. The word will extend a little over the tab but will not matter as the instruction (to your recipient) should be clear.

Next VERY CAREFULLY remove the Post-It Note/washi tape from the top and bottom. Seperate the Designer Series Layer from the white card stock.

Using the Lost Lagoon ink stamp your greetings onto the hearts. I decorated around the words with the small flower stamp included in the Hooray for Surprises stamp set. I stamped both Calypso coral and Crushed Curry flowers.

Carefully glue the die cut paper onto the stamped white card stock. Be sure to not get any glue on the hearts.

You can either glue this top layer directly onto the card stock or raise it up with Stampin Dimensionals. I did not tilt this layer, I aligned it with the card base and left approx. 1cm (1/2″) border showing the Crushed Curry layer and a bit of the Calyspo Coral card base.

To finish the card I tied a bow with 4 different colors of embrodery floss to mimic the orange, yellow, blue and white colors of the card and placed it under the bottom greeting.
