Directions

Using Mossy Meadow card stock cut a card base 14.85cm x 29.7cm (5-1/2″ x 11″). Placing the card stock so the long side runs across the top of your paper trimmer or scoring board score at the following measurements:
5cm (1-3/4″)
9.9cm (3-1/2″)
14.9cm (5-1/4″)
19.8cm (7″)
Accordion fold on these lines and burnish.

Using the Designer Series Paper cut four strips 4.5cm x 15.4cm (1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″) The last piece will fit the larger panel, cut that one to 9.5cm x 14.4cm (3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″). At this point you can go ahead and adhere the paper to the panels. (See finished photo at the top.)

The next step is to cut the ‘mechanism’ (for lack of a better word). Cut a strip of Mossy Meadow card stock: 7.6cm x 15.2cm (3″ x 6″) Score half way at 7.6cm (3″). For this piece you may want to cut a couple of layers one for each side. I used Very Vanilla for one side and Mossy Meadow for the other side. These pieces measure: 7.1 x 7.1cm (2-3/4″) square. For this example the Vanilla piece is left plain as this is where I will write my personal greeting.

It’s time to decorate! Using the fantastic dies from the Thoughtful Wishes set I cut the largest element from Wild Wheat and the matching flower element from the a scrap of the brand new Petunia Pop card stock.

I layered these on top of one another and glued them down to the center of the left side of the mechanism, see the photo. The next step is to stamp the Birthday greeting from the Unbound Love set onto vanilla card stock. Which is then cut out with a die in the Unbound Love die set.

A piece of the linen thread was cut to 29.5cm (11-1/2″) and looped behind the greeting. I taped it down and then placed dimensionals on the back of the greeting It is centered on top of the die cuts on the left side of the mechanism. See photo.

The last step to is to glue down the mechanism. The left side of the mechanism will be centered up and glued to the front left card flap. (see photo) Open the accordion flaps and glue the right side of the mechanism to the last flap facing the back of the card. (see photo)

And that’s it! A fun fold card to show off the Thoughtful Journey Suite.

Notes: I have seen a number of versions of this card so it is difficult to credit an individual with it’s original design. I have used the imperial measurements from The Klompen Stampers Fun Fold Video Volume 1.

If you have time check out this video, Jackie and her husband Dave are wonderful and you will find several more fun folds included in the video. All measurements for the metric card are my own, because of the differences between the imperial and the metric card stock I remade the card to reflect the sizes we use here in the UK and Europe.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and hope that if you make this card you will pop a picture in the comments and on social media and tag me @loriothen. Have a wonderfully crafty day!
