I like clever cards and fun folds are my favorites. But sometimes I see a Designer Series Paper and fall in love. All I can think about is the best and most effective way to show case the paper and it is often not a fun fold. So today I am using a technique that has been around for ages, a tried and true way to show off that fabulous paper!

Directions

Cut a card base 21cm x 14.85cm (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″) out of Boho Blue card stock. Score halfway at 10.5cm (4-1/4″)

Cut a layer of designer series paper to 10cm x 14.4cm (4″ x 5-1/4).

Cut a card liner from the Basic White card stock to 10cm x 14.4cm (4″ x 5-1/4)

Carefully place the largest round die from the Stylish Shapes die set to center up a portion of the picture of the designer series paper you cut for the first layer. Ideally you will center it on the designer series paper from side to side but depending on the picture you have a lot of latitude to move the circle up or down to choose the perfect spot to highlight. In the example shown the circle is placed high up. In the example in the video the circle is placed quite a bit lower on the card front.

Tape down your circle and cut. Save both pieces.

Glue down the the rectangular portion of the designer series paper to the card stock leaving an equal border all the way around the card.

Stick dimensionals to back of your circle and place it in the empty spot raising it up. This creates a subtle focus on the picture.

Stamp your greeting onto a scrap of white card stock and cut it out using one of the decorative rectangular dies from the Unbound Love die set.

Loop a piece of the Boho Blue Ribbon, crossing it in the middle and trimming off the tails. Glue this to the back of the greeting.

Place stampin dimensionals on the back of the greeting to raise it up. I placed the greeting slightly to the right. You’re are done! You now have one fast, easy and very elegant greeting card for your special person.

Thanks for reading this rather fast and furious card tutorial. I love this paper and indeed the entire suite. There will be more from the Thoughtful Journey set coming soon.
